If you're looking for lavish, this ain't it. This resort is perfect for couples, families and singles. What you get is some of the nicest people on the planet and an island and location to die for. I have been to this resort 5 times and am treated like I am family every time I am there. I was there April 05 and they were putting air in the Over the waters as well as re- doing the roofs. They have also renovated some of the bay view rooms (hotel bldg) with some new air conditioners and new furniture.

The resort is located on a beach & reef in Cooks Bay and we were chasing small octopus and a few eels. There are rays in the bay as well but you need to get out a bit to see them. The water is always "bathtub water" but still very refreshing. The pool with it's own little waterfall is perfect for both the small kids as well as the adults who are not into salt water. A great beach to kick back on.

The onsite restraunt, owned by Virginia, is doing pretty well even though they could extend their hours a bit as they are no longer open in the evenings for the standard lets get together and sing and drink. Aota in the morning or for dinner is a great meal.

The grocery store is within a "good" walking distance (10-15) but there is the gas station store less than a 3 minute walk from the resort that is excellent for cigs, ice cream, water and such, sort of a Tahititan 7 Eleven.

There are 2 roulettes (outside food) within walking distance for those that don't want to deal with the expense of the French restraunts of which Alfredo's is very close who has excellent food but it is a bit expensive.

I could write all day about this place. If you are a "A" type like me you turn to jello mode really fast. Time is on slow here and NO ONE rushes about. I will be back in April for my Tahititan Families birthdays, but this time will bring my own chocolate cake fixins as chocolate is very expensive there.

Hope to see you all there.

I, too, would like to see more pictures of the resort.....rooms, surrounding property, dining facilities, etc.

Especially interested in the over-the-water bungalows. None of the postings for sale or for rent show or give much detailed description.....

Sounds like a beautiful and relaxing place and am very interested, if more info. was available.

We were already owners of an Overwater Bungalow when we went for the first time last June ('02). I am a major Type 'A', control freak - always stressed and overwrought. By the time I left the Club Bali Hai, I was so loose and relaxed you could have poured me into gallon container and shipped me home. It was magical, the most relaxing, stress free, laid back vacation of my 50 years!

The resort is small and intimate. The staff friendly and obliging. The grounds are beautiful and the setting is breathtaking. You can do everything or nothing on Moorea and no-one cares. The sunsets and night sky took my breath away - shooting stars each night.

This is a very laid back resort on a very laid back island.

It is not for party animals or those who can't live without CNN, Hot Tubs and planned entertainment but we fell in love with the Club Bali Hai.

The day after we returned I found another week for sale and bought it immediately. We plan to go back every other year - God willing!

The location is absolutely beautiful. The best views on the island! Club Bali Hai is friendly, warm and laid back. Very rustic, yet you have everything you need. We thoroughly enjoyed it and ended up buying a week in a over the water bungalow while we were there!
