Beachcomber Club

Beachcomber Club / Negril, Jamaica

We had the ultimate pleasure of staying at the Beachcomber Club in Jamaica this year. My husband and I occupied a 1bedroom unit with full kitchen facilities. The unit was air conditioned only in the bedroom area with a ceiling fan in the living large living room. Although from time to time it did get a little “warm” in the kitchen area during cooking I think another ceiling fan in the dining area would help tremendously. The unit was extremely large and easily converted to a 2bedroom unit, which would be ideal for a family or multiple couples. Knowing we had a washer & dryer made packing light for our trip. All the unit amenities were up to date and well maintained, I was impressed with how clean they were and hats off to the housekeeping staff who cleaned our room daily. The grounds were well groomed with a bar, restaurant and snack bar located just steps away. We didn’t eat much at the resort, as my preference is to cook but what food we did order was great. It is located right next door to Jimmy Buffet Margaretville, which is good and bad. Easy access to entertainment but also could get a little noisy. They did however stop the music at a respectable time of night. The staff was wonderful. I learned from talking to them that a lot of them have been employed there for over 5yrs. This says a lot for a business. Even when the resort was closed in 2004 from hurricane damage the resort kept a lot of the staff working to help get it up and running again. It was enjoyable taking to them all. We travel a lot and have stayed in 5* resorts before. If you are looking for that then this is not your place. It is a small property, in fact locally owned. If you are looking for a safe, clean, friendly and comfortable accommodations then I wouldn’t recommend any other place than the Beachcomber Club. There are plenty of activities to do within walking distance or you can just lounge all day around the pool or the beach (which is our preference) and both are just steps out your door. Our stay was not long enough and we plan to re-visit the Beachcomber Club next year. Hats off to Natalie in reservations and the rest of the staff for making our stay one that we can share with others.
