One must give "A" for effort at this property. Though management states they are mandated to bring this resort up to par, it is not. The rooms are clean and have decent views, but each unit is equipped differently but lacks something maintenance-wise. Staff is pleasant, but by no means fully versed in customer service. Since "all inclusive" is an option, we declined, and are glad we did. We queried other guests and the response was overwhelming - "below average". They are off the beaten path but close enough for a cheap taxi ride to the shopping areas or beaches. If you enjoy walking, it is a nice safe stroll to downtown Sosua past many restaurants, banks and local bars. A daytime only shuttle runs to the beach and back on an erratic schedule. The resort tends to cater to German speaking Europeans, but one can locate English speaking staff when needed. One nice aspect was no pressure to attend a time share presentation at all. What a relief! Main Pool is very nice and the other pools are smaller but very accomodating. All in all it may be an acceptable place to vacation for some, but we will not go back based on our experience.
