  • At the base of the renewed Heavenly mountain in Lake Tahoe is the Marriott Grand Residence Club. Housed within five stories of rustic timbers and native California stone, Marriott Grand Residence Club feels every inch the alpine retreat. Magnificent fireplaces nursing roaring fires greet guests, while a bounty of onsite amenities provide plenty of ways to keep busy. Pamper yourself at the resort's full-service spa, or get in a good workout in the state-of-the-art health club with sauna and fully equipped fitness center. The outdoor year-round heated pool and dual whirlpool hot tubs are the perfect place to relieve sore muscles while enjoying fabulous views of the Sierra mountains.

The Marriott Grand Residence Club offers studio units as well as one and two-bedroom villas. Villas allow you to enjoy separate living and dining areas, and fully-equipped kitchens outfitted with cookware and tableware. Private balconies and fireplaces are available in most units, allowing for a home-like feel with a touch of five-star luxury.

Here, you're offered premiere access to all of what makes Tahoe so great. You're surrounded by ski-trails and bike paths, casinos and entertainment, and world- renowned restaurants. No matter your pursuit - hiking, biking, horseback riding, golfing or rock climbing - Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevadas provide opportunities abound.

Fantastic property. I stay numerous times during the year. The rooms have a different feel depending on where you stay and the season. Mountain/pool view is my view of choice but it's also nice to watch the people in the village or out on the streets. The staff are all very friendly and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The beds are very nice and the decore is a mountain feel. At night there is large firepit so make sure to make s'mores! I love this property and always walk to the beach to watch the beautiful sunsets.

This is my home resort, so I'm a bit biased. The Marriott Grand Residence Club is one of the nicest places to stay in all of Lake Tahoe. The staff are friendly and go that extra mile to make you feel welcome. The property was built in 2002, but it looks brand new. Marriott keeps the rooms and the common areas very well maintained.

Ronald118 is correct, though. It is not a tranquil or rural setting and it is not next to the lake. The lake is about a 5 minute walk. Though, I have found the resort to be quiet even on the Lake Tahoe Blvd side and on the pool side. No drunken college students and mostly no screaming or spoiled children. If you open up your balcony and set outside, it might be nosier by the pool at times, but not much.

I looked at a number of properties in the South Lake Tahoe area before deciding on the Marriott Grand Residence. Besides the service and comfort of the resort, I liked the idea of fractional ownership and the ability to predict exactly which weeks each year my unit would be available for me. And, they participate in both Interval International as well as Marriott Destinations.

The other factor was that the resort *is* close (walking) to shopping, movie theaters, grocery stores, good restaurants, the lake, a day spa, the casinos, and other activities. The Heavenly Ski Resort gondola and the resort provides a ski/board check right next to the gondola. When I settling in to my room after a day of skiing or boating or whatever, it is nice to walk next door for dinner or groceries as opposed to getting in the car and driving somewhere.

We just spent a week at Marriott's Grand Residence Club in Lake Tahoe and had a wonderful time. The staff is very helpful and goes above and beyond to meet all your needs and comforts. The location is perfect. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The weather was amazing, and we can't wait until next year to go again.

Depending upon the room you exchange into or rent this is a top notch property. I heard the staff say that no two rooms are alike on this property. This is an upscale Marriott Vacation Club property not originally built by Marriott Vacatiuon Club.

It's a Great location at the base of Heavenly Ski Resort and the gondola steps outside the door of the property. The beds and furniture in each of the three different units we have stayed in over the past three years were great. We exchange other Marriott properties for this one or the Timberlake Lodge just next door on a regular basis for ski trips.

There are lots of shops and restaurants on the property including a Wolf Gang Pucks grill and Fire and Ice. There is a Raley's Supertmarket off property just accross the street south of the property. It's great for stocking up on all the good things you want in your villa.

This property fronts SR 50 and does not view Lake Tahoe. Rooms are prime Marriott, but forget the nature part of Tahoe. Really good ski in/out given the gondola. This property offers all the great Marriott amenities except peaceful nature. Probably a good choice for children, adolescents, and the adolescent minded.

One might think one were still in an urban maze given the road and people traffic/congestion. If one is content with an urban environment, this is the place.

However, Tahoe offers many other condos that are in much more natural environments.

If one enjoys the city life, visit this Marriott. If one requires nature, make a different choice.

This resort is absolutely top-of-the-heap in Tahoe. Brand new, Marriott quality, first class all the way. Common areas are beautiful. We stayed in the "hotel room" and were pleased to learn that it contained a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub (no kitchen at all, however). But there were all kinds of restaurants, shops and eateries in the immediate facility. Live music, ice rink (should have opened this weekend), gondola, it is fabulous. Absolutely five stars... a must do!

Located in the heart of the new Heavenly Village, this 4 season resort is walking distance to 24-hour gaming and world-class entertainment. Just steps from the Vail-owned Heavenly Ski Resort Gondola. Year-round covered valet parking, and a short walk to the beach. The new village features a wonderful array of shops and restaurants. The resort also features an incredible spa with a full menu of skin, body and hair treatment options. 300+ days of sunshine per year and a short drive or shuttle from Reno/Tahoe International Airport. Very professional staff that will pamper you 24 hours a day.
