My husband, my daughter, my parents & I, all went to South Beach resort in April of 2006 and we had a ball!!! This resort has everything you could think of! We had a GORGEOUS 2 bedroom condo on the third floor. It over looked the strip along the beach! We couldn't quite see the beach but it was still gorgeous! I would reccommend this resort to anyone who wants to get away! I loved it!

We went the week of July 4 and had a very good time. You have to cross a highway to get to the beach but it was a short walk. It had everything we needed to have a very nice vacation. There was plenty of activities for kids and adults. All the staff was very friendly and helpful.

We toured this resort in August before it was completed. It was an exceptional tour. What soured the whole thing was the place that we were put up in. We stayed at Myrtlewood.....where we were not treated well at all. They knew in advance that we would have 6 adults with us......we paid extra to have an extra bedroom.....however we were only given 4 towels. When I called for more, we were told that what was there was there......extras were not usually distributed. We had to go to Walmart and buy toilet paper and dishsoap. My son-in-law raised the hood of his van to check his oil, (we traveled from Indiana) and one of the upstairs tenants threatened to call the police because of suspicious activity. We knew we would have to pay tax on our package at check in, however, they charged us the tax on VALUE of the week, not what we actually paid for it! I thought tax was paid on dollars spent....not worth!! Our patio screen door was torn and bugs galore could come in. We also had small children with us that wanted to play on the patio. The mattress of our KING sized bed was two twin mattresses on a king sized frame!! If you were a middle-of-the bed sleeper, you slept in a crack!! This is the reason we did NOT purchase a week at South Beach resort. We bought the package through them to tour THEIR resort. They are the ones who chose where we would stay. I feel they should have made some kind of compensation for the things that happened to us during our stay.(not sure what.........offered to move us or something!) This however, was not the case. I love Myrtle Beach but will probably NOT stay at Myrtlewood or deal with South Beach Resort again.
