Description

Since 1947, the Flying L has been a favorite destination for guests from all over the world. Located one hour Northwest of San Antonio, two hours Southwest of Austin, and less than three hours west of Houston in beautiful Bandera, they are in the Cowboy Capital of the World.

Flying L offers spacious four-bedroom, two-bedroom or cozy, one-bedroom timeshare villas furnished with rich, brass-studded leather couches, Ponderosa Pine dining table, chairs and coffee table, and an airy kitchen with a complete complement of dishes, appliances and cookware. The bathroom boasts an oversized tub in addition to a richly-tiled, jetted shower. In the bedroom, there are all the comforts of home, including a full-sized television set for late-night viewing, and a huge four-poster bed of hand-tooled pine covered with a decadent down comforter and fine Egyptian cotton sheets.

Guests at the Flying L can choose from an almost endless list of things to do, which range from indoor amusement to a full range of activities utilizing the Flying L’s miles of trail-laden grounds. Break 100 on the 18-hole championship golf course, mosey over to the equestrian center for horseback riding lessons, trail rides and rodeo events, cool down at the Lone Star Lagoon waterpark, which includes a lazy river, wave pool, “figure-eight” waterslide and waterfalls, or gather ‘round the campfire in “Ghost Town” for barn dancing, line dancing, s’mores and nightly western entertainment.

This is a great place to take the family. The private waterpark and swimming pool are clean and really nice. The evening entertainment and usually nightly campfires with s'mores and music were a highlight, even for my teens! We tried country line dancing, watched a trick roper, and had a wonderful time. It is a great place for R&R, low stress, beautiful scenery and if you get up early you may see some of the exotics, like black buck antelope, grazing near your balcony. The units are large, comfortable and very clean, we didn't try the restaurant but did go down for the bbq by the river. Primarily we cooked in our unit so kept the cost way down. San Antonio and tons of activities are only a car ride away; don't miss the Schlitterbahn, Sea World, Six Flags or for some romance, wander the Riverwalk.

Extremely large units with all the amenities located on a ranch in a very quiet surrounding. Golf course and large pool/lazy river facilities on site. Central building with a great restaurant and bar. Only downside is the 45 minute drive into downtown San Antonio.
