The 10 Best Selling Timeshares of 2021

published on March 21, 2022 by

As life continues to propel forward amidst the aftermath of the pandemic, timeshare sales continue to climb at RedWeek.com. Resale closings in 2021 increased by 43% from 2020 and were higher than even our best performing sales years pre-pandemic.

Marriott Vacation Club Destinations points system stole the show last year, jumping from the #5 spot in 2020 all the way to #1 in 2021. It appears that more owners are interested in the flexibility the points system offers.

As travel trends return to favoring international travel over road-trip destinations that prevailed in 2020, this list is dominated by Aruba and Hawaii timeshare resorts. California and Florida were also buyer favorites last year.

Arizona’s Westin Kierland Villas dropped off the list completely this year as travelers return to their tropical islands. A few long-time favorite resorts rejoined the list for the first time since 2019 including: Marriott’s Ocean Pointe, Marriott’s Aruba Ocean Club, and Waiohai Beach Club.

These are our top 10 best-selling timeshare resorts of 2021, based on actual sales volume processed by our full-service department.

Curious how this list compares to last year? See our top 10 from 2020.

Check out our top-selling timeshares of 2021:

Marriott builds huge facilities and then the numbers of people just swamp local capabilities and the beach as well. We own a timeshare next door to their Marco Island building. The building is beautiful, it's just that it is so huge that I object to.

Jim T., I agree with you. I own at the same resort you do in Marco Island and when the Marriot resort fills to near capacity (If that is even possible) all the places we like to frequent are always full or have a waiting line. Takes away from the serenity of a beautiful, peaceful place.

I own two units at Marriott Newport Coast Villas in Newport Beach Ca. and a three bedroom in Las Vegas Nv. I am unable to use so I rent out the units and net between $8,000 to $10,000 a year. I am eighty one years old and have owned these units about 20 years. If you buy location, location, location You will have more success when it comes time to sell.
