I would say yes. If you will read about soonn's (Redweek member) rental fiasco then you will see why a written and signed rental agreement is the best way to defend yourself (owner) AND the renter.

Of course, if you really trust the other person to follow through with the rental transaction, then use your own judgement as to whether to use a rental agreement or not. It's really up to you.
