From what I ahave read it is up 2012 with an option to renew for 40 years. They will renegotiate the rent every 10 years under the new lease. They claim to be still trying to purchase the property, which is probably true. The one thing they have in their favor in negotiation is that they hold the option. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Given the improvements and the location upgrade. You may end up paying a lot more in maintenace fee, but the properties desirabilty should be much higher as well...

From what I've read here, others are saying that the land lease is up for renewal in 2012.

That will make it very difficult to sell any Imperial timeshares, especially if the prospective buyers do their research.
