Help--Redweek or Marriott to sell my TS?? (by Kathy K.):

We purchased a studio floating week at Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge (Breckenridge, Colorado) from the developer about 12 years ago. I got into the forums a few days ago and have learned quite a bit, but still have a lot tol earn! We want to sell our week (it is a Winter, ski season week). I called Marriott after learning from the responses to my posting in the forum. They have NO internal way to do exchanges in their system--we have to use II, who have been unable to meet our last 2-3 requests. I now know it is b/c it is a studio and that is the primary reson we want to sell it! Marriott said they could possibly sell it for us on a 60-40% deal: they sell for $14,900 and we get 60% of that. We paid the developer about $12,000, so it could be worse given what I have very recently learned from the forums. They said they currently have none of our units available. Is there any reason we should be wary of the Marriott deal, if they are willing to sell it for us? Any reason it would be better to use Redweek? Any suggestions? Our annual dues are due in mid-January and we have not assigned our 2008 week yet. Dues are rising to $799--That is the other reason for selling! I feel very naive.
