Do Not Buy a Club Wyndham Timeshare (by Carla H.):

I strongly recommend never buying a timeshare from any company based on my regrettable experience with Club Wyndham. From my perspective, the company is far more focused on making the sale than on ensuring the product is truly a good fit for the customer's financial situation, travel habits, or long-term needs. The sales process was aggressive and highly persuasive, and it often felt like they were determined to make the sale at any cost, regardless of whether the purchase made sense for me. Unfortunately, the reality after purchasing has been very different from what was promised. Reservation availability is often limited or nonexistent, making it difficult to use the points when and where I wanted. One of the primary reasons I purchased was for vacation flexibility, yet I frequently found that my desired destinations and travel dates were unavailable. As a result, I often had to pay for my own vacations elsewhere, completely defeating the purpose of owning a timeshare. To make matters worse, I'm still responsible for the $230 per month in maintenance fees, whether I can use the timeshare or not. While management initially offered to help address my concerns, they never followed through. I left numerous messages requesting assistance, but no one ever returned my calls. The lack of communication, accountability, and customer support has been extremely frustrating. The level of service and attention provided during the sales presentation seems to disappear once the contract is signed. As an owner, I expected management to stand behind their commitments and respond when issues arose. Instead, I was left chasing answers with no resolution and no follow-up. My biggest piece of advice to anyone considering a timeshare is this: if you really want one, do not buy it directly from the company. Research the resale market first. I was shocked to learn that timeshares that sell for over $100,000 from the company, only resell for $3,000. That enormous loss in value was never adequately explained during the sales process. Had I understood the reality of the resale value before buying, I would have made a very different decision. Before purchasing a Club Wyndham timeshare, or any timeshare, carefully research the long-term costs, maintenance fees, reservation limitations, low resale values, and customer service experiences of current owners. Based on my experience, buying this timeshare is a decision I deeply regret and would not recommend to anyone.
