There may be some legitimate timeshare dealers out there, but for the most part, the ones I have dealt with are scams. Over the years, I have spent several thousand dollars trying to sell (or give away) my timeshares. What most buyers don't understand when buying a timeshare(including myself) is that the ownership goes into infinity-to your heirs or in the event of your death, if there are not heirs, the timeshare company will come after your estate for the maintenance fees, which by the way, continue to escalate. It's sad that this fact is not disclosed at the time a person buys a timeshare. Of course, if this had to be disclosed, there would not be many timeshares sold!
