After being told once again that my Vistana was worth $24,000 I gave them my name and told them I sell timeshare on the resale market and basically that I would be reporting their Broker and the person I was speaking to to the DBPR. I then explained that there was information on the TV about upfront fees and that you had to have a real estate license etc. The gentleman said a few not nice words and hung up on me.
They outright lied to you. Upfront fee parasites cannot hold a real estate license, the main reason being that if they were licensed they COULD NOT not charge any upfront fee whatsoever.
They also outright lied to you about what your Vistana week is worth on the resake market @ $24,000. Now ask yourself this, why would anybody buy on the resale market a week that is developer priced? It all boils down to common sense, no matter how much BS they tell you to get that upfront fee.
I don't know what week you own, but in reality it's worth, in today's down economy/market, less 75% +- of what you paid if you bought from the developer IF it can be sold at all.
