First an foremost, never ever pay anyone a large, upfront fee to sell, rent out, market, or "cancel" your timeshare. The second general rule is to get an idea what your timeshare is worth on the resale market. Forget any fantasies you might have about recouping what you originally paid for it. Most timeshares now (especially where you own) are worth around zero dollars right now. Some owners are trying to give them away but are unsuccessful.
If you pay the RedWeek membership fee, you can place ads here on RedWeek. You might be able to get a little bit of money considering its size. Just remember that timeshares are plenty in that area. Perhaps advertise it in the Bargain Basement for $1.
And ignore any phone calls or e-mails claiming they can sell your timeshare for thousands and thousands of dollars. Those are usually scams!
