I found a timeshare at the Marriott Aruba to rent. The owner told me that they don't like to use pay pal. Am I okay if I get the contract, sign it and then send them a personal check with the contract? Or should I do something else? Sorry, first time user of redbook.

What is stipulated in the contract .... some people want all the rental fee upfront and the balance 30 days (or whatever) from check-in day.

If the person you talked to seemed sincere and you got a good vibe then I say go for it. The vast majority of owners renting their weeks on Redweek are legitimate, but once in a while you can get a bad apple.

Be sure to get verification that the person you talked to is the actual owner and that they are not renting an exchange as that is against RCI and II exchange company rules.
