You were very smart not to buy anything at one of those developer sales presentations. You were also very smart to join RedWeek to try to learn some ins and outs of buying, selling, renting, and owning timeshares.

Going to one of these presentations to learn is not wise. All they will tell you is how great it is to own there while totally hiding the perils and pitfalls of buying/owning.

Take lots of time to examine your options (including renting) before jumping into the timeshare ownership pool. Any "deal" that those developers are pitching you (contrary to what they tell you) will still be around tomorrow, next month, and even next year.
