Often if you are buying resale you don't have a choice of units. If you like the resort, understand the MF's, have a handle on the HOA, and you are happy with a first floor unit you should go ahead. If I had a choice of units, I might choose a higher floor but I doubt it would be a deal maker/breaker. I recently stayed at a nice unit in the OBX and the first floor had no view except for of the dunes and the higher floors had ocean views. If I had an opportunity to buy a unit for a reasonable price even though I would prefer a view would take a 1st floor.
