We joined Fiesta Americana Vacation Club on Jan 30. After reading the finer details of the contract, we decided the next day to cancel. There was a clause that said there is a 5-day rescission period. However, when we hand the cancellation notice, the dashes to wouldn't honor it saying we can no longer cancel bec our membership has already been activated. We insisted but he won't budge. We took a picture of the cancellation notice and left it with him but he won't acknowledge receipt. He denied us the right to cancel. Now we're still fighting to have it cancelled but it's harder because it's past 5 days. At this point we are thinking about just cancelling our Visa card so they can't take any more monthly payments. But that also means we would lose our downpayment of $3200. If we do decide to cancel our credit card, can they hound us and still force is to pay? We wouldn't have this dilemma if they didn't lie to us about not being able to cancel within 5 days. We have been told other lies which we find out later. These people are leeches.
