point rental liquidators

We entered an agreement such as described in this forum from BJ Clarke. It has been several weeks and we still don't have capability of getting on the Owners Portal. We are concerned about the process. Each time we have tried to arrange a week for our son at a resort (not Sunset Hills) we get a convoluted process of booking our existing time share with RCI and Sunset Hills for our owned week(s) and then maybe! start the booking process for our son. But we can't find where the RCI week in Mexico was converted to point and shows up somewhere. This is particularly troubling since the points have to be somewhere to be able to get paid for giving them up. So until the payment of their estimated 8.5 cents will show up as a check withwhich to pay off our original investment via credit. Thinking there a problem Yes? No? and explain.

If this worked anything like a business that would be great. Can't get anyone to call you back. No one knows anything untill they speak with BJ -who never responds . Never get a direct answer. Just wonder why every one always has the same complaints? You have got to work for Sunset Harbor or PRL.

Have you had any luck with Attorney General , and other complaint filing you have done for your parents..interested in knowing my have to do the same

We filed with La. and Texas because that's where Sunset Harbor Resorts is located. We will file with Nevada too. We got a letter back from them fairly quickly, but haven't heard anything recently. BJ Cooke with Point Rental Liquidators had assured me that he could get Sunset Harbor Resorts to cancel the contract and refund my parents' $9500, but it never happened. It was just another delaying tactic. We've sent numerous letters and the attorney sent a letter, but we never even got a response. Sunset Harbor did send an invoice for maintenance fees real quick though.

You can call or email or any other form to try and get him to contact you but he will not. Here is a thought , email his wife's business. Let me know how that works. This boy tells so many lies he does not know what the truth is anymore to the point he even lies to himself.

What kind of business does BJ's wife have and how do you contact her. I would like to know. I really dont know how anyone can get by with this kind of reputation. There has to be something that can be done about it.

How many people are posing as BJ Cooke? How could this whole company have everything go through one person? Could BJ Cooke be a code name that many people use? Kayec19

The main thing you can do is file a complaint to the attorneys general in the states where BJ operates .... you can do this online.

That is amazing , when I met him he stated he was going to have that done. Then he used it for an excuse why he couldn,t return phone calls because he was in the hospital having the same thing done last year.

Spoke with PRL person yesterday reguarding my promised payout. It will not be forthcoming, however the person stated that We would be getting a letter explanning things. I personnaly believe that SunSet Harbor over sold and PRL cannot live up to its comittments. I will soon be joining in the move to law enforcment. I have been scammed twice before by resale people and should have known better. Sunset Habor sales reps. are the real culprits here. Don L

Looks like we may all have to join in and jump on all of this situation..Funny thing, I got another call couple days ago to come to a dinner and talk about our timeshare and learn the changes and have a free dinner...lol ought to go and eat..huh then ask if they know anything about PRL??

How about a refund along with the socalled letter saying that the payout will not be forthcoming .... this is an out and out scam and should be reported to all scam alert agencies.

Since BJ Cooke resides in the state of Illinois those people that have been scammed by him need to also file a complaint with the Illiniois Attorney General here:

Hazena.... if I were you I would go to the dinner and then confront them in front of all the guests and demand answers. You might be able to prevent others from becoming victims and enjoy a dinner on them. If they ask you to leave you can show your invitation and atleast embarass them in front of everyone. I know it would give me a lot of stisfaction.

I just want to share my recent experience with R&R Venture Group/Point Rental Liquidators. We received a call from supposedly "RCI", telling us to attend a meeting at Denny's to hear about changes with RCI. That sparked my husband's interest and we went to this meeting. Come to find out, this group isn't RCI at all. They tell us about this great point rental/buying company PRL and VSI services if we buy a timeshare in Florida and they would convert our current timeshare in Florida into points. They wanted 9500.00 to do this transaction. Everything sounded really great at first, luckily for us, we didn't have a credit card to purchase, so they offered to get us qualified for a RCI Master Card, this didn't go through right away. We signed the contract, however, several pieces of the document didn't get completed, so our contract wasn't officially complete or final. We went home and I just started regretting this decision and I started doing some internet research on PRL, R&R Venture Group and found out they are total out and out liers in their sales presentation. If you read the contract it clearly outlines you can not hold them accountable for any verbal claims in the sales presentation. HELLO...that is huge "red" flag! I found they have a "F" rating with BBB, for unresolved complaints against them. They will not guarantee any rental of your points..there is nothing stating in their contract that they will be able to rent your points, so if they can not, oh well, your points will expire if you do not try and use them. They stated in their sales presentation that your points will never expire..that is total bull..even on the PRL webside they clearly state points can only be rolled over up to two years...same deal we have with RCI with our banked timeshare week. They also stated that we could get a week at any resort, any size unit, anytime for 9000 points and you could book the resort up to two years in advance...in the contract it states short term bookings 2-45 for this 9000. That is no different that what RCI offers..they offer 9000 points exchange for a 2-45 day bookin for any size unit also. It all depends on availability, so their is no more of a guarantee you will get what you want with these guys as you do with RCI. We got out of this contract because no monies were ever exchanged and I called the Director, Todd Miller for R&R Venture a bold faced lier reciting the complaints I read from the BBB out on the web. Todd Miller took a certificate of ours the night of our sales presentation that was from RCI giving us bonus weeks forever, in exchange for 20,000 points, however, the deal didn't go through, so we have requested our Certificate back. Needless to say, haven't received it yet. I've threatened them with out and out theft of the certificate. Todd Miller's business card had an e-mail address for customerservice, I e-mailed that address and it came back as undeliverable......bogus e-mail address! When I called the number to this supposed "Regional Office" in Las Vegas, the girl doesn't identify who you are calling. When I asked what is this "regional office"..who is the company they represent? They put me on hold and put another girl on the phone to tell me they were the "Regional office" for Vacation Villas.. the resort we were to purchase a week of timeshare in order to get into this points system. That in it self is reason to be very supiscious of this whole deal. They are a scamming company, and my husband and I beleive that it is somewhat of a "ponzi" sceme. As long as they can sucker people to purchase and pay annual fees, they will pay out on some rental points to keep their reputation solid, however, when they don't have money, guess what...they will just claim they can't rent them, or don't have the money, ignore your letters and calls and in the end, you have nothing, however, you paid a whole lot to get into this crazy scam! I've also tried to find a business license on file with the State of Nevada, City of Las Vegas, or through Clark County...nothing comes up for either Point Rental Liquidators, or R& R Venture Group for their in Las Vegas. I'm going to try and pursue the State of Nevada Treasury Department to investigate if they have a valid business license in the State of Nevada. Buyer BeWare..if anyone wants you to buy right now without allowing you to think it over and do some research first and then get back to them in a couple of days....they are a scamming company. Once they have you signed up on a contract and have your money...it is so hard to get it back even if you cancel within the 3 or 6 days according to their contract. If you paid by credit card, or check...file a dispute with our credit card, or stop pay on your check if it is within the cancel time frame and you followed the rules to get out of the contract.

Amazing again , this company owed me 744.00 .BJ stated they had a set back and could not pay the 744.00 on the date they were to pay.So how could the pay 12,500.00 that in the contract if they can not pay a small amout of 744.00.

Just read your message today, 11/4/12. We signed up with BJCooke in June. Has anything changed with your account or are you still on the bad luck side? Did you seek any legal advice? If you have, what is the status?

You are doing a GREAT job. I do not doubt many people including myself have been scammed. Please keep every one posted . As I have stated before BJ was our agent , I still wonder if he even has a real estate license to sell. I will be taking action with in 2 weeks against them. In what state did you have your meeting ?
