Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

Timeshare buying scam- watch for "Albert Brown" or "Judy Boulay"

Dec 11, 2013

It's a SCAM... They just want your money and then if you are dumb enough tro send them money they will claim that there is another " fee " that has to be paid. It will continue until you stop sending them money.

I tend to agree but for the fact they have sent all the Bank info as well as the SAT info with names and phone numbers as well as the buyer. I totally agree that all of this should and can be done via a legitimate escrow, but they claim since there is no actual deed involved, that this is the way they do it. They are supposed to provide the names and numbers of satisfied clients later this date. Thanks

Additional names are Rebecca Fischer

I am currently "working with" the same people: Rebecca and Jennifer of Premier Destination. They apparently have a ridiculously high offer for our timeshare in Tahoe. I tried to get information through BBB but they have no file (not accredited, but also no complaints). I'd be curious to hear how you move forward.

TOTAL BS. I HAD A FRIEND GO TO THE FACILITY THEY CLAIM TO WORK OUT OF IN ARIZONA AND THEY ARE NOT THERE AND NO ONE KNOWS OF THEM. THE "REFERENCE" THEY WANTED ME TO CONTACT SUPPOSEDLY IS AN ORTHODONTIST AND ALWAYS IN SURGERY !! THE AREA CODE PROVIDED IS IN THE CHICAGO AREA, BUT THE NAME OF THE ORTHO GUY SHOWS HIM LOCATED IN LOUISIANA.

I CONTACTED THE REPUTED BUYER AND THEY WERE AWARE OF THE SCAM USING THEIR NAME(CEMEX OF MEXICO) AND ASKED ME TO FORWARD ALL THE "OFFICIAL" DOCUMENTS TO THEIR HOUSTON OFFICES WHICH I DID AS WELL AS CONTACTED THE AZ ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE. THEY TOOK THE ON LINE REPORT AND RESPONDED THEY WILL BE IN CONTACT.

ARE THEY STILL USING THE AZ ADDRESS? aFTER ALL WAS SAID AND DONE, I SENT THEM AN E MAIL STATING WE HAD CHANGED OUR MIND AND DECIDED TO KEEP THE UNIT IN QUESTION. I WAS SURPRISED THAT THEY ANSWERED WITH A NOTE THEY WOULD PASS THAT ON TO MR. ATKINSON, THE PRINCIAPL.

KEEP ME INFORMED. IS YOUR CONDO IN CA OR NV AS BOTH HAVE AGRESSIVE ATY GEN. OFFICES TO GO AFTER THESE SCAMS.

GOOD LUCK,

VIC

That's usually a tell-tale sign of a scam. They tell you that someone is willing to pay a lottery-type price for your timeshare (to buy or to rent). It's their ploy to paralyze you with excitement and stop you from thinking rationally.

Let's think rationally for a minute here. If they have someone wanting to pay "a ridiculously high offer for [your] timeshare", why don't they just buy it from you for a few bucks and turn around and flip it to this alleged buyer for such a high amount?

The answer, they don't have a buyer willing to pay that amount. If you still have doubts, ask them either to buy it from you for $1 and then sell it too their so-calledbuyer or tell them that the fee they are charging you will double if they take it out of the proceeds of the sale.
