How has the constuction of the adjacent highrise affected the use of the beach? much more crowded?

My wife and I just returned from the La Quinta (week #45). They haven't started contruction of the high-rise in the vacant lot. The beach was not crowded at all, quite intimate. The pool and beach at La Quinta were perfect. We rented a timeshare and would do it again.
