Timeshare Resale offers on EBAY for $1

Aug 25, 2008

Are the offers on EBAY to sell a timeshare unit for $1 legitimate? Most of them indicate that the maintenance fees are up to date and that there will be a clear transfer of deed to the unit. It seems like a scam, but there seem to be so many positive comments from previous buyers.

Go to search forums and type in 'postcard companies' ... .this will explain the $1.00 timeshares on Ebay. Many people have bought them and are satisfied.

I have bought 2 timeshares at great prices from ebay (not quite 1.00 though). Most of the very low price offers are from people just trying to get out, they don't use them and don't want to pay the mfee's. I frequently scan the timeshare sales from lowest price up looking for a bargain. Just due you due diligence. Also, if there are several choices, look for the lower cost closing costs with a reputable company, the cost can range from nothing to 500.00. Good luck!!

Many of the $1.00 TS offers are from PCCs which are just trying to dump the TS quickly. For the uniformed, PCCs (Postcard Companies) are companies that solicit TS owners who are looking to sell or otherwise dispose of their units. The PCC will offer the owner a "deal". You give us thousands of dollars and we will take the TS "off your hands". The PCC will then dump it on Ebay for $1.00. In addition, many of these PCCs are connected with specific closing companies, which they require the buyer to use.

As a previous poster stated, use due diligence. Many times the ads are not accurate in terms of MFs, unit sizes, etc.
