Yes, TMC charged my Discover card without my approval so I disputed the charge and Discover removed it. I have not heard a word back from TMC as of today. I'm planning on taking my chances with TMC exporting this to a credit agency which I will deal with if that happens.

I haven't paid my fee in over a year and my FICO score has risen to 847! When I bought my ts I asked whether there was a fee I was told it would never be more than $100 -$150 per year. this is clearly fraud. Let Eichner sue me! I suggest you all hold tight and wait. He'll settle rather than risk a criminal charge. Check out what Volkswagen did today.

Has Manhattan Club added interest to amount owed? That was the information we were told.

So there is no class action suit that is being brought by a private attorney? I thought the attorney , Mr. Lowell (perhaps that's his name) has filed a class action law suit and other owners are joining. Can someone advise the status of that case? When I heard from the Manhattan Club accounting office, I briefly discussed the ongoing investigation and was told that this had been dragging on for over 2 years and it was because the A. G. could find no wrong doing ( right, I thought to myself). Further she pointed out to me that the most damaging allegation regarding overselling of the time shares had been dismissed and that the M. Club felt sure this investigation was going no where and would soon be dropped.

This FILING needs to be acted upon by the court to agree to RECOGNIZE the there is a CLASS (defined somehow).... and ACCEPT the filing as an actual case. Then theoretically with Lowell reaches out to find all who are a part of the CLASS that the court desides upon. Only time will tell if & how long it will be before an actual Class Action suit begins. What the NYSAG is doing relates to TMC breaking NYS law, regs etc... What the remedy would be if the AG wins everything is unknown.

that's about how this case has been since its inception..........NO (OR VERY LITTLE OF ANY CONSEQUENCE) INFORMATION TO HELP OWNERS MAKE FINANCIAL OR OTHER DECISIONS RE TMC. that's why i'm pushing for another meeting in nyc (as prepared by jeff weir last august and others so well)...............but this time, have either the NYSAG or a professional rep from his office address the TMC OWNERS in attendance at the meeting specifically about the lawsuit. what we're in dire need of is first-hand information from those directly involved in the case.

there is a form published by the NYSAG on his weekly informational website, to request a presentation from his office. i sent the form to jeff weir, greg crist and irene smalls earlier this week. i believe i received a response only from jeff weir. i also had the form published in this redweek.com forum with no response seen from any owners.

i'd like to see some feedback in this redweek.com MC forum regarding other owners' reactions to having another meeting. it's my opinion that we'd have to have a larger venue to accommodate the number of owners wanting to attend if we could get the NYSAG'S staff to address our poorly informed group of owners. to date we remain in an uninformed suspended state concerning this lawsuit which impacts all owners of THE MANHATTAN CLUB.

looking forward to seeing some reactions from all of my fellow owners.

there is no lawsuit...only an investigation...and if there ever is a lawsuit, it will hinge on the outcome of the investigation

Yes, I am very much interested in another Owners' meeting to receive a live update from those leaders in the know, I live in California and could not make the 2015 meeting but it was recorded and available on this website. I've listened to all three recordings and they were instrumental in my decision to pay my maintenance fees. I have reservations at TMC this Aug 2, 3, & 4 (checkout on 5th) and would love to meet up with anyone interested in this forum and will be in NYC at that time. I chose these dates because I plan on attending the Annual meeting. I hope ALL of us owners will think constructively and collaborate in a positive way to resolving all the legal issue surrounding this debacle.

Please let us know when the moratorium can be lifted and we can sell our weeks. Does the investigation need to be closed for the AG to lift the moratorium?

jill, YES, YES, YES............let's pump up the momentum for having another meeting here in nyc similar to, if not larger than, the meeting in august of last year. that being said, it is imperative for us (or the meeting planners such as jeff weir and others) to persuade the NYSAG OR HIS REP to address us at this meeting. if the AG agrees to present an informative address to us, chances are magnified that we'll have an overflow crowd at this meeting that would support his court case against THE MANHATTAN CLUB. a Q/A segment shoud be available at the conclusion of the AG'S presentation.

THE AG'S PRESENTATION (if he agrees with our request for one) could be the major attraction at another OWNERS' MEETING this year, such as the successful one we had last august 2 in nyc. we could possibly get many much-needed answers to our several questions about our current positions in THE MANHATTAN CLUB OWNERSHIP and about the progress of the NYSAG'S lawsuit against EICHNER AND THE MANHATTAN CLUB. this is a positive, proactive step in the right direction. the alternative is to remain helpless victims of fraud, scamming and financial disaster perpetrated by the principals of TMC.

let's all jump on the bandwagon: request the assistance of planners like jeff weir and greg crist to get involved in the preparation of another TMC owners' meeting such as the one they did so well in planning for last year. with the NYSAG as the main attraction, i suspect that many more owners from farther distances will travel to nyc to attend this meeting.

we need to be persistent and scrappy as ALEXANDER HAMILTON, AND NOT GIVE UP OUR SHOT (as potential winners concerning the outcome of the current lawsuit).

(fyi, no i haven't seen HAMILTON yet.......the ticket prices are, like our TMC maintenance fees, WAY TOO EXPENSIVE...but for now i settled for the libretto and the cd; therefore, i use the phrasing in the above paragraph to describe what our stance should be concerning the overall TMC situation.)

jill, the last MC OWNERS' MEETING WAS ON AUGUST 2, 2015 in chelsea, nyc in an attractive masonic temple venue. it was a meeting that was well-planned by jeff weir (reporter for redweek.com) and his co-planners. they did a super job with all of the arrangements, including delicious "munchies." there was an attorney present, but at the time, he didn't appear to have definitive answers to many of the owners' questions. with the NYSAG (or his representative) present offering a presentation referencing THE LAWSUIT AGAINST EICHNER AND TMC, we might come away with answers that would help owners make better-informed decisions concerning their ownership in THE MANHATTAN CLUB.

your offer to "organize..... a small group in TMC lobby" is generous but really insufficient to make an impact on our sad situation. what we need is STRENGTH IN NUMBERS. i believe we could draw many owners, even from distant locations, to a meeting in nyc very soon, if we were able to ensure the presence of the NYSAG.

i'm hoping those who so aptly organized the last meeting will do so again this summer, having the NYSAG present as our special feature and service to all TMC OWNERS.

we need all members of this redweek.com forum to support the idea of having another meeting in nyc this summer. i'm hoping more of us will come forward to help in this much-needed effort. GET INVOLVED TO HELP SAVE YOUR OWNERSHIP POSITIONS IN THE MANHATTAN CLUB, including lowering maintenance fees and making reservation time more flexible/available/

yes, vivian: to "facilitate such a meeting" you can reach out to jeff weir and greg crist to start using their super planning skills to create another meething in nyc..... WITH THE NYSAG doing an informative presentation about our plight with THE MANHATTAN CLUB and the current lawsuit. encourage others in this forum to become more proactive in giving this meeting plan some momentum by telling other owners to support the meeting (for sometime this summer.) all owners need to climb on this bandwagon strongly endorsing such a meeting. thanks for your support.

If the facilitators of a meeting of this sort could also set it up as a webinar it might increase participation by owners who are unable to travel to the meeting.
