Hi am from the UK hoping to rent a unit in cancun. Am very cautious of renting and find it unusual that reviews are of resorts in general and not the actual units and the same about resort info. They seem to be only "stock" pictures and not those of the actual unit. It this typical and if so is it ok to request this info from the owners. I want to see and read reviews of the actual unit I will be renting not a "typical " one on the resort and leave it to pot luck. If I knew this was all I would see I would have saved my $14.99 membership fee

When we owned timeshares we took pictures of all aspects of our unit and the resort (that really came in handy to post the photos when we were ready to sell). If you see something that you might find interesting then email the owner and ask if he has photos of the actual unit, however most units are decorated and furnished the same way.
