What are the advantges and disadvantages of buying an every other year resale?

Beyond the obvious of only being able to use it every other year I wanted to understand what folks thought about this. Thanks

I see no disadvantage of buying an every other year timeshare (resale of course) if the price is right and if that's what you want.

We bought a second week at our resort for three reasons. One we love the resort and Lake Tahoe area and have been going to Reno and Tahoe area for more than forty years. Two when you own a second week you pick your week twenty four months out and we get our week and unit in most cases everytime. Owning one week you pick twenty three months out. Third reason is EOY unit you only pay MF's every other year and in our case we can exchange every even year and still be at our resort one week. We use the Naegle summer odd years and Tower unit even years and our Tower can be used almost all year so we still get summer or winter months!
