Bounced Checks from the time share company.

Apr 19, 2016

We recently sold back our timeshare to the company we bought it from 5 years ago. OR so we thought! They gave us 4 checks in which to cash in the next year. Sure enough when the dates on the checks came due the checks bounced. What can we do to them about this?

Which closing company did you use to complete the transfer? Usually in a timeshare sales transaction, the closing company issues checks to the seller.

Do you have any legal documents showing the legal transaction has been complete?

I'd take them straight to the police department , righting checks that are no good is a crime.

Yes we have a contract stating that the checks would be cashable on certain dates.

Also, we were contacted by the timeshare company stating that we owe and ISR tax and a IVA tax for the selling of our timeshares. They want us to pay more money before we get our money. Should we have to pay these?

No it is a total scam. The more money you send, the more fees they will come up with. They are never going to pay you anything. The minute they realize you aren't going to give them any more money, they will simply disappear but not before giving your info to a sister scam company that will promise to be able to recover what you were scammed out of, if you just pay them an upfront fee of some kind to get the process rolling.

Hopefully they at least took the timeshare back. They may not have and you still may be on the hook for MF's.

Apparently you have been scammed . Don't give them another penny . I doubt very much that the title is out of your name .

IS there anything legally that can be done to them with these bad checks? Whom do we contact?

Contact your local police dept. and file charges for the fraudulent checks but don't expect any satisfaction because your dealing with scammers that disappear in the night.
