cancellation policy

Wondering what the cancellation policy is......Looking to rent a time share but am worried about what happens in an emergency. Also, want to know if you have a week or so to cancel right after booking if you can't find a flight?

anner237 - If you are renting a posting that has RedWeek payment protection, then the rental agreement states: "If Renter cancels at least 60 days prior to check-in, 50% of the total rental amount will be paid to the owner as a cancellation penalty, less agreed-upon fees. For cancellations less than 60 days prior to check-in, the penalty is 100% less fees."

If you are renting from an individual owner not using RedWeek payment protection, then you would need to ask the owner what their cancellation policy is. The owner has already paid for the week with their maintenance fees, so once they have rented the week, they remove their posting from the website and lose other opportunities to rent it. Many times there is no cancellation, but you would need to check with the individual owner to verify. You should make sure there is a rental agreement that specifies what happens if you cancel. What happens if the owner cancels?

If you use RedWeek Online Booking, your money is held by RedWeek until two business days after you check into the resort. You would receive a refund if the owner violated the terms of the rental agreement.

define strick, flexible and moderate cancellations

Flexible: 100% refund up to 60 days before check-in

Moderate: 50% refund up to 60 days before check-in

Strict: No refunds

If I rented a week to a renter and I selected "strict: no refunds", and a renter doesn't check-in, will I get my funds after two days from the check-in date?

If I rent from an owner with Strict cancellation. So no refunds, how can I be sure they won’t cancel on me and keep funds

What if the owner cancels my reservation and I have alreasy booked the flights ? I know I will get refunds on my paid resorts booking and feesm, but am I protected agasinst flights cancellation fees or refunds of my already purhchased tickets ?

If cancellations less than 60 days prior to check in the penalty is 100% then why would U not get payment till 2 days after check in? Seems either way thay have to pay?

This is in case the renter wants to file a dispute that the owner didn't fulfill his or her end of the deal.

As an owner with an already booked week, can I post it for rental and then freely cancel the posting at any time before someone contracts to rent that posting?

Of course. You can "decactivate" your rental listing at any time, without any consequences, as long as a rental agreement has not already been executed. However, you will not receive any refund, pro-rated or otherwise, after "deactivating" your rental listing.

If I book a week and pay for trip insurance, and discover a less expensive unit on redweek. Can I book that unit and then cancel and request a refund for the original unit?

If the renter cancels less than 60 days and they are still charged then do you get paid and still have your week to use? I am asking because I have a confirmed renter but want to rent the same week at a different resort. I am concerned that if the renter cancels than I would have two resorts for the same week.
