Buy a timeshare in Grand Solmar Cabo San Lucas

May 12, 2021

We bought a timeshare in Grand Solmar Cabo San Lucas back in 2020, and our loan is fully paid. Just like many other buyers, we figured out that we committed a terrible mistake. Has anybody been successful at canceling their contract with them? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

If your loan is fully paid and your maintenance fees are paid, you can try advertising that you want to give it away.

The other thing is to just stop paying maintenance fees and let the resort terminate your membership. You might face a bunch of collection calls and letters and perhaps a hit on your credit score or rating.

Just do not pay any of these companies or law firms that claim they can "cancel" your timeshare.

The rescission (cancellation) period in Mexico is 5 days. For a purchase made back in 2020, you are obviously long past the available time period for contract rescission.

As already noted above, you can simply stop paying your fees and there will be no real consequences --- except, of course, for the unfortunate (and permanent) loss of whatever you money paid to "sign up" in the first place and any and all money you have paid out since then.

What are the issues you are dealing with? We bought in about 10 years ago. We love the place. However, we now have to go to Rancho every year because we can never get a reservation at Land's End. It's beyond frustrating.
