Hyatt Vacation Club at The Welk

Do you think purchasing Resort Villas...

Jun 25, 2023

Do you think purchasing Resort Villas week from an owner is wise with all of the changes with Hyatt taking over? Ex. There is lots of pressure to sell the weeks, pay extra, and transfer to points.

In other words, even though its a deeded week, do you think it will be reasonable to use in the future. Ex. trade with RCI/Interval and not have maintenance fees sky rocket?

I own a fall week now, want to buy a June week for grandkids to come, and plan to sell my fall week.

Personnally, it makes no sense to convert a deeded week that I am happy with and have been using for more than 20 years to points at a cost of $20,000 and up. Love the Welk resort and the large villas.

Never buy a timeshare from this place. They lie and change their policies and you always end up with "not enough point"... I was able to legally exit mine and a major weight was lifted from my shoulders, after wasting thousands of dollars.

I agree with Rich--I am a deeded owner for 38 years. As often as possible we go and enjoy our first week in August in Villa 192 overlooking the lake and golf course hole 9. We also love the Welk resort and the large villas. I would never convert to points. My kids (young men now) are looking forward to inheriting our deed some day.
