I own a fixed week 6 (Valentine’s) Virgin Grand Studio. This unit is a Friday to Friday rental in platinum season. This spacious studio is located in the Virgin Grand phase of the Westin St. John Resort. Each studio is located on the lush hillside, faces the beautiful Great Cruz Bay (seen above) and sleeps 4. Each has a full kitchen, living room with sleeper sofa, dining area, semi-private sleeping area equipped with a king-sized Westin signature Heavenly Bed, full bath, washer/dryer and private deck. An added feature only found in this phase is vehicle parking directly outside each unit, which makes check-in/out and grocery runs much more convenient. Complimentary golf cart service will take you around the resort/bring groceries and luggage if you don't rent a car…I would recommend renting a car so you can travel to the different beaches on the island. There are also plenty of open-air taxis available. Unique to the Virgin Grand phase, a separate 600 square foot pool with waterfall located immediately next to the unit is available for use by villa guests only. The decks surrounding the pools have lounge chairs, pool floats, plus two commercial-grade stainless steel gas grills for outdoor cooking. There are three other phases to the resort and all phases have full access to the large main pool, 1200 foot private white-sand beach and other resort amenities such as fitness center, spa services, restaurants, tennis, walking trails, children’s activities, etc. You can see a lot more information about the resort and villas at www.starwoodvo.com Rental includes use of all Westin amenities including free usage of non-motorized water sports on the bay. Guest will be responsible for the USVI Timeshare Occupancy Fee of $25 per night, per villa, added to guest folio at check-out. No transportation is included in rental. Must be at least 21 to rent. No refunds for cancellations less than 60 days from date of check-in. Since travel to St. John island typically involves a flight to St Thomas (the nearest airport) followed by a ferry ride, I recommend flying in at least a day early and spending the night(s) in St. Thomas. You can then take a morning ferry and arrive in St. John early on your check-in day, enjoying the resort amenities, island beaches or sight-seeing instead of wasting your first resort day traveling. The resort will secure your luggage if your room is not ready. I can recommend a few local St. Thomas hotels that we routinely use and offer information regarding ferry choices. There are many hiking trails throughout the island, some leading to remains of sugar plantations from St. John’s early history. One of the remains located atop the middle of the island has been turned into a bar and recreational area. It’s a great place to go for a casual dinner and watch the sunset. It’s spectacular! There are so many beaches on St. John that it would be difficult to see them all in a week. Each beach on St. John is unique and offers a different experience.
