  • The Point at Poipu

    Koloa, Hawaii

Flowing waterfalls, a crystal clear Koi pond, and hundreds of tropical plants make The Point at Poipu appear the stuff of the dreams. Nestled in over twenty acres of lush tropical gardens overlooking the Keoneloa Bay, and buildings no taller than a coconut tree, it is hard to believe this island paradise is actually a resort! In the center of The Point at Poipu is the tranquil lagoon-style swimming pool with its own sandy beach and whirlpool spas. In a more remote nook of the resort is an adults-only spa for quiet time away from the kids. The resort also offers a complete fitness center, pool-side grill and bar, pool hut for all your pool and beach accessories, and barbecue areas.

The Point at Poipu features lovely one-bedroom and two-bedroom timeshare accommodations with all the comforts and conveniences of home. Master bedrooms feature a king-size bed and large bathroom with separate soaking tub and shower stall. Kitchens are fully equipped with granite counter tops, range and oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, utensils, cookware, dishware, and dining area. Living rooms have complete entertainment centers, and private lanais open to the resort's lush gardens or the majestic span of the Pacific Ocean.

Kauai's Poipu offers countless unique experiences, and your adventures may include a Jeep or helicopter tour, a day at the beach or enjoying water activities such as boating and fishing, scubadiving, snorkeling, or surfing. You can also enjoy golf, hiking and horseback riding under the sun or shopping and dining in the charming local villages. Or, maybe a day unwinding at the spa is more your style - everything is possible in Kauai!

This is our favorite Kauai resort! Our OCEAN VIEW unit provides great unobstructed views of the ocean right off the balcony with incredible sunrises! Several turtle feeding stations to watch right in front of our resort! An amazing and wonderfully personable staff who greet us when we arrive with, “Welcome Home.” It feels like we ARE home, and that the long-term staff members are our extended family members. The units are lovely and always exceptionally clean. We never hear noise from our neighboring units due to the exceptional structural sound-proofing of the building. There is a large “Adults Only” hot tub that we would enjoy every afternoon while barbecuing our dinner. Absolutely the BEST CONDOS on Kauai. Also, if you don’t already know, the weather is ALWAYS SUNNY IN POIPU. Truly a Bit of Paradise available for your use EVERY YEAR.

Great resort we have been there many times. The resort is right on the Ocean. We love to sit out on the balcony for breakfast and morning sun and watch the Ocean. You are just a short walk to Shipwreck Beach for sand, sun and surf. Units have AC and full kitchen, outside has BBQs. From the airport you pass Costco and Safeway for the week's food and drinks.

This is one of our favorite places to relax in Hawaii. It's a quiet island with a lot to do!

Go tubing down an old sugar plantation stream or drive up to Hanalei to see where Puff frolicked! On the way there, check out the lighthouse and the boobies who nest on the cliffs. And probably the most famous, drive to the incredible Waimea Canyon for some jaw-dropping views. Enjoy!

We came here with 4 families and it was amazing! We had two 2-bedroom units that we ocean facing and next to each other- lots of space! We cooked fabulous dinners at their bbq stations by the pool. We spent time at the ocean, centrally located to so many places. We will definitely be returning!

The resort is located on the ocean where Sea Turtles come to feed at the Lava Rock tide pools daily. 2 beautiful sand beaches, Shipwreck Cove and Poipu Beach, are within easy walking distance. There is a large lagoon type family-friendly pool with excellent snack bar. Beautiful sunny weather on the south side of the island. The concierge staff are fabulous and lots of wonderful shops and restaurants are nearby. Easy drive to Lihue, Kapa'a and Weimea. Easy day trip to Princeville.

The Point at Poipu is a beautiful, graceful resort in a natural setting, abundant with koi ponds, fragrant flowers and lush tropical foliage.

The swimming pool is surrounded by a sandy beach with a spa pool adjacent to it. An outdoor restaurant with bar is located right next to it.

The resort is your home away from home in paradise.

My wife and I have been coming to the Point at Poipu since 2005. Located on the sunny South Shore of the Island, we've long enjoyed the peaceful respite offered us by the Point at Poipu. The staff have always been friendly professionals, and accommodating to our needs. The units are quiet and spacious with well equipped kitchens. All units have Lanais with some having larger wrap around Lanais. There is a large community pool with food and drink service. There is good food and shopping all around, with plenty of sights to see such as Waimea Canyon, and businesses to visit like Kauai Coffee company. The closest beach access is at Shipwreck Beach barely a five minute walk, and Poipu beach itself is a five minute drive. Whether you want to just unwind and do nothing, or go out and explore, there is something for everyone to be found here.

We rented a timeshare at the Embassy at Poipu Pointe in Kauai on Pe'e Road. Its name is soon to change to Poipu Pointe (no longer Embassy). The rooms were lovely: granite countertops in the kitchen, tastefully decorated, and spacious enough for our family (three adults and three small children, ages six and under - one in a crib). The pool was the BEST: it has a toddler area which is sectioned off from the main pool with lava rocks. The entire pool has a beach-like graduated entry, and is no more than three-feet deep in the middle. There is an elevated hot tub surrounded by lava rocks which welcomes children, and a separate adults-only spa in another area of the resort with a lovely fountain and nice, powerful jets. The grounds have a gorgeous koi pond which wanders and is highlighted with waterfalls and tropical plants. There is a koi feeding at 8:45 am at which children come to view and feed the fish. There are also waterfalls in the pool. And a volleyball net. There is poolside bar/restaurant service for reasonable prices (a pina colada here is $6.95 vs. the $9.95 you will pay at the Hyatt). They have a breakfast buffet for only $6 per person. The ocean views are breathtaking, and if you walk toward the surf you will see huge seaturtles swimming near the tidepools. You won't be swimming this beach, but Shipwreck beach is a short walk away (still not friendly for small children with its strong undertow, red flags, and surfing-waves). Poipu beach is a short drive away, with a sectioned-off area (via lava rocks) for the toddlers, a play structure, lovely sandy beaches, and a shave ice stand across the street (under Brenneke's Restaurant). The staff here at the resort is responsive: a simple request for an extra dish towel or wine opener was fulfilled within minutes of request. There is no business center or use of a printer, but your PC will allow internet access for $9.95 per day (and there is internet access for a fee in the lobby). The concierge desk is friendly and fast, but book your activities weeks before you arrive. We're glad we booked waterskiing before arrival, because kayak guided tours, ziplining, and ATV tours were all sold out island-wide for weeks in advance. We never heard back from our wait lists (but don't blame the resorts - it's a popular place for adventure!). Fear not: if you haven't booked a group adventure, there is plenty of hiking and beachcombing around the island to keep you busy all week. Any tourbook will show you trail maps and lookout points. We've rented at three different condos/timeshares over the last nine years, and this is our hands-down favorite. We've also visited family at one other rental. All of them are nice and priced fairly for what you get, but this one really knocked our socks off. We had a wonderful vacation and plan to stay again, and will certainly recommend it.
