The Grand Mayan at Vidanta Riviera Maya
Playa del Carmen, Mexico
Set within the expansive Vidanta Riviera Maya destination along Mexico's Caribbean coast, The Grand Mayan combines Mayan-inspired architecture with lush tropical surroundings and a wide selection of resort amenities. Guests have access to The Grand Mayan's Mayan Sanctuary pool and infinity pool, along with the broader Vidanta complex's additional pools, beach club, restaurants and bars, spa and fitness facilities, tennis, water sports, and golf. The property is also home to Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ and Jungala Aqua Experience, a large water attraction with slides, a lazy river, wave pool, and children's areas.
Accommodations at The Grand Mayan are spacious and designed with distinctive Mexican and Mayan-inspired décor. The Master Room features a king-size bed or two double beds, a Jacuzzi tub, and a private terrace, while one- and two-bedroom suites add full kitchens, separate living areas, and private terraces with plunge pools. The two-bedroom suites offer two king-size beds and two bathrooms, providing plenty of room for families or groups, while the resort's expansive layouts make the accommodations feel more like private vacation residences than traditional hotel rooms.
The Grand Mayan's location on the Riviera Maya places guests between Cancún and Playa del Carmen, with the Caribbean coastline and the region's tropical landscape close at hand. Beyond the resort, the area is known for cenotes, snorkeling and diving, eco-parks, and ancient Maya archaeological sites, including Tulum and nearby sites along the Yucatán Peninsula. The resort itself can easily fill much of a vacation, but Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, and the surrounding Riviera Maya provide plenty of opportunities to experience the region beyond Vidanta's grounds.
