Swallowtail at Sea Pines Resort
Questions & Answers

« Back to resort

We are considering purchasing a unit there, and have a few questions. 1 - How easy is it to get to the beach? 2 - I know that Sea Pines charges a fee to enter. Would we get a free pass for the week that we would be there? 3 - I know that this is an older former Marriott property, what kind of condition is it in? Any "special assessments" expected (roof, etc.). 4 - Is there access to bike rentals close by? 5 - For those owners at Swallowtail, would you purchase again, knowing what you know? THANK YOU!

The Swallowtail complex is 1 mile from the Sea Pines Beach Club beach. From early Spring to late Fall, there is a trolley that stops across thestreet and makes it very easy to get there and back. There is also aparking lot at the beach club that you can access, but in the summermonths, there are a limited number of parking spaces available for anyonewho is not a full-time property owner, which we are not as timeshareowners. There is also full-time, year-round access to Tower Beach forSwallowtail owners. This beach is private, very nice, and less crowded. It's about 2 1/2 miles from Swallowtail, closer to the South Beach areaof Sea Pines. Regarding gate pass access to Sea Pines, as an owner, youwill enjoy access to Sea Pines, and will be able to pick up a Sea Pinesgate pass upon arrival, just outside the main gate at the Sea PinesWelcome Center. The pass is free to you as an owner. There is a $100assessment that has already been approved for next year. None others arein the works. The units, roofs, siding, grounds, interiors, etc. are ingood repair. Directly across the street from Swallowtail is the Sea PinesCenter, and there is a bike rental concession there. There are also manyother bike rentals locations in and out of Sea Pines, and delivery andpick-up is offered by these services. I am a huge fan of Swallowtail andlove coming to Hilton Head every year so, YES, I would purchase again.Compared to renting, it's quite a bargain. The location is fabulous. Theunits are spacious. And once you own, you can count on having a greatvacation every year.
