The accomodations are spacious three
bedroom homes located on the grounds of the
Homestead, one of America's first and most
prominent resorts. Activities include fabulous
golf (Flynn, RT Jones, and Ross designs--the
former is one of the top 100 courses in the
world), beautiful mountain setting, skiing and
ski school, riding, shooting club, indoor and
outdoor pools, spa and mineral baths, etc.
Dining options in the hotel and nearby are
truly excellent or one can prepare meals in
one's home.
Staff is very helpful (will even stock the pantry
and refrigerator before one arrives) and there
is a lot to do off site that they can help
arrange--canoeing on the James, Jackson, or
other rivers, fishing, hiking, excellent chamber
music (at Garth Newel in Warm Springs) for
example. But leave your most of your credit
cards at home and bring some reading for
rainy days--this is not a shopping and bright
lights venue. Mall hoppers will likely be bored
(there are just a few shopping options on site
and they are rather expensive). But outdoors
folk, golfers, tennis players, canoe and boating
enthusiasts, etc. will be in heaven.
Ownership is for 27 days per year in roughly
half week increments up to two weeks at a
time. Trades within the Owners Club network
include Barton Creek in Austin, Texas; the
Owners Club at Hilton Head, in Indigo Run
Plantation; and smaller Owners Club locations
in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Telluride,
Colorado. There is great golf, and either
beaches or skiing, at each of the locations.
Owners may trade outside the Owners Club
system through RCI.
We have vacationed here each of the past five
years, essentially since the Owners Club at
the Homestead was founded, and can't
imagine a higher quality setting in the world of
residence clubs and fractional ownership--
enjoy!
