A very peaceful place. Just walk down to the beach that spans for miles. Mostly secluded. Wireless internet has just been added and all units now have new tempurpedic mattresses..Close to everything yet quiet.. Loved my stay, will return next year.

We visited Schooner Landing in September - a wonderful time to be on the Oregon Coast. We had no rain and highs in the 70s. I like how the units are spread out in multiple New England style buildings. All employees that we met there were very nice. The unit was very clean; each has a well-stocked kitchen, gas fireplace and whirlpool tub. The laundry facilities, pool, sauna, large screen TV, billiards, indoor sports courts, and movie rental are handy in the main building. There were some planned activities (pancake breakfast, movie night with free popcorn, etc) that we did not take advantage of.

The resort is overlooking the ocean and there are stairs down to a large beach, we watched for whales while sitting on our porch. There is a plaza with movie theaters, drug store, etc within a mile and the town just a few miles south with nice shops, restaurants, fishing and sightseeing charters. This is a great location for exploring the coast.

We visited Schooner Landing in week 52. There was certainly some rain, but as some sage once said, "There is never a boring day watching the sea." The indoor pool, hot tub, sauna building is first class. Lots to do in the area. Newport has a world class aquarium, plus Ripley's Believe It or Not, WaxWorks and the Undersea Gardens complex. Half an hour north is the Lincoln City Outlet Mall, Casino, Gleneden Beach, Salishan Resort, etc. South are the Sea Lion Caves and the Sand Dunes in Florence.....all must see attractions.

This resort has seen its up and downs since built. The last time we stayed there we were impressed with the maintenance being done. The units are beautiful, Laundry and housekeeping were excellent. The staff within the "club house" were friendly and helpful. Some of the units have ocean views while others do not. (the reason for 4 stars rather than 5). The place has stairs and is not wheel chair accessible. There is a path to the beach. On site there are video rentals, a pool, and exercise and game equipment. This facility is available through RCI as well as the Worldmark process. Downtown Newport and the surrounding areas are available through autos, not walking.1/1/03

Excellent location. Club house and pool all updated. Beautiful place. Been there many times since 2022.

The Oregon coast is magnificent. Beautiful ocean scenes from virtually every highway turnoff. Schooner Landing Resort offers Cape Cod architecture, private access to the public beach. Grounds are beautifully landscaped, offering the feeling of a home away from home. Downtown Newport, OR is 1-2 miles drive from Schooner Landing Resort. Movie theater is appx. 1/2 mile from Schooner Landing.

There is no pool or hot tub, the building has closed due to being condemned. There was no internet in the buildings. The office was a trailer and closed at 8pm. No laundry facilities available. Very few units had an ocean view. Very difficult and long trail to get to the beach. The units are very dated and need a deep clean. Building a new office next to the units, very noisy during the day, workers playing music. Lots of wood rot and mold on outside of the buildings. The good, the price was good and in a good location.
