I stayed here in late Nov '08 for 2 weeks, and enjoyed it. I rented a car at Manchester airport, but took the train into London 3x(70mi). The natives were friendly and helpful.
The problem was that RCI couldn't get me there in season, even though the resort had vacancies in Sep & Oct. I was the only guest, and it was cold. I also found out that it would have been cheaper for me to go there on my own nickel. So go there in the spring or fall, but don't use RCI.
