March 2011 (12 days) Many factors may decide if you like this condo complex, number one being the condition of the unit as they are individually owned, managed and cleaned. Do your homework to find a good one. We rented ours directly from the owner. Ours was very clean and well maintained.

There are 10 buildings at Kamaole Sands, people have their favorites based on floor and location. Some people would like to be near the pool, others the beach. To some inner circle location matters, to others it does not. Some units do over look noisy roads so this may bother some people if they spend a lot of time out on their balcony.

Location is great. Across the street from beach, close walking distance to many restaurants and only $2 to ride the bus to the grocery store.

Very family friendly, nice pool. Basicly you are renting an apt/condo. This is not a hotel so please do not expect it to be one.

Kamaole Sands worked well for our family and budget. We rented a one bedroom in building one: the layout of the one bedrooms are that they are long and feels like two seperate areas. Bedroom & bathroom on one side, 2nd bathroom living room (ours had a murphy bed) and balcony on the other. We enjoyed eating meals out on our balcony and watched the fountain change colors which was located in front of our building. Later we would pull down the queen size murphy bed and fall asleep to the sound of the fountain. Selected this unit based on many factors, with the murphy bed being our top reason. Would definately return here and most definately recommend it - but choose your unit carefully.

We just returned from Maui with four days at this resort.

The unit was not good! The owners clothes were in plastic boxes in the closets-No room for our clothes.

The refrigerator leaked on one of the shelves inside. The A.C. filter needed to be cleaned-Very little air. Our son-in-law cleaned the filter and inspected the unit. (He is an electricin) Water was leaking all over the deck. Doors fell off their hinges.

We complained but were told, "Next time ask for a refurbished unit!

They didn't inform us about the Mai Tai party. Someone told us an hour into the party. At that point the Mai Tai's were gone!

The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. Close access to the beach and stores.

We were so glad to leave for Kanapalli for a wonderful week with no problems.

Never again will we spend time at Kamaole Sands.

3 of us stayed in a 1 bedroom two bath unit in April 2005. Unit was spacious and well-maintained. Grounds were excellent. as were the swimming pool and tennis courts. Beach was a few steps across the street and had plenty of shade and sand, a rare combo! My 83 year old mother loved it as much as my husband and I! We met the nicest people around the pool who had come from many countries. Everyone was enjoying their stay! Checkin was a breeze, concierge very helpful. Loved it and can't wait to return!

My family of five stayed here last summer in a great two bedroom ( wih loft) The condo was filled with lovely vacation items, books, games, movies. The pool was clean and the grounds well maintained. The neighborhood was also good. The beach across the street was walking distance, even with kids. During our stay we had litle ants with wings on a wall at dusk and the resort was quick and took care of it. I would stay again

This place is a dump. The 5 star rating is obviously a mistake. The service was non- exsistant. There was a hole in the elevator floor with a piece of plywood thown over it. The beach is OK but is across the road. Any place would be better than this!
