The Lailani Kai Resort is our home away from home. It is a small 9 unit laid back resort that is a fractional ownership, not a timeshare. It is one of the few beachfront resorts in Kihei. Unit 101 is a ground floor corner unit that is quiet and spacious with lots of windows to hear the ocean and feel the ocean breeze. It is steps from the saltwater pool and beach. The beach is home to many Hawaiian sea turtles. I enjoy our time out on the lanai with the beautiful ocean view. The sunsets from the unit are amazing. There is a gas BBQ steps from the unit to grill your own meals. The maintenance fees include house keeping before and after your visit, clean linens and towels throughout your visit, maintenance of the pool/garden, property taxes, and hands off repairs. There is laundry onsite and the unit is air conditioned. Since it is a fractional ownership, the units are well cared for. It is walking distance from the Azeka Center and Times Market. Also, Maui 4th Friday is hosted at the Azeka Center.

No AC and no plans to ever get any. Rooms are too hot and you have to shut all windows when you leave for evening because of security. Very outdated and over priced compared to comparable or better places in area. It is right on the beach though and perfect for windsurfers! Has a small pool and shared laundry. Nice quaint place. Been going for close to 20 years but now it is just "tired." With the heat and the rooster in the neighborhood, it became difficult to get a good nights sleep to enjoy a vacation.
