All of Ka'anapali beach is relatively calm because it is on the west sideof Maui. If you want bigger waves, then go to the north side beaches orthe surfing spot near the airport (east side). The beach at Nanea isbeautiful sand and is well maintained to keep it free of driftwood andtrash. The snorkeling is some of the best if you take it slow. Usually, aturtle or two will swim up of down the coast and occasionally a pod ofdolphins will cruise by late in the day. Even if you are just sitting onthe beach, the views are breathtaking, and you can catch sight of whalesin the season.

Beautiful beach. Sand. Some rocks in water. No need to protect feet.Turtles and lots of fish, no need to take a snorkel cruise.
