I sent a cancellation on the 7th day via email and through certified mail. When I sent through email, they quickly acknowledged my cancellation request, and my sales rep confirmed that it was processed and said the refund should be back on my credit card in a couple of weeks. It's been about 2 weeks since I sent the first email and happy to say that everything went smoothly and the full refund went back to my credit card. It's normal to feel apprehensive about this - especially with tons of negative reviews about timeshares and cancellations. Fortunately Marriott is a big and reputable corporation that they were able to make this process go smoothly. Their program and incentives sound wonderful, its just unfortunate that my current financial situation cannot accommodate the costs at the moment. I am considering purchasing the program through resale.
