I have been offered a timeshare to rent for one week in St. Maarten, but the renter is not the owner of the unit. he said he owns points in Diamond International and can secure the type of timeshare at the diamond resort i want for the week i desire. I have never rented from a non-owner and would like to know if this offer seems legitimate. If so, how can i protect myself from being scammed as i proceed with the deal (especially before i send a deposit).
