Another reason for this warning is to protect II and RCI's membership. If people were to be allowed to use guest certificates for profit then the best weeks would be gone in a very short time leaving the membership with only left over weeks to choose.
Before this warning was put into place people were actually making a living by exchanging for the best weeks and then renting those exchanges for a huge profit.
The guest certificate is only for friends and family with the owner making no profit nor asking for the maintenance fee cost. I know with RCI (don't know about II) the only reimbursement to the owner by the guest are the guest certificate fee and the exchange fee.
I'm sure both RCI and II have departments that monitor such activity.
