Renting an exchange property (by Tracey S.):

Most exchange companies including RCI and II do not allow members to rent units they got through exchange or through last call/extra vacations. They do monitor sites like redweek (ebay, craigslist, etc) and can cancel the exchange (without any compensation) and even cancel any other confirmed exchanges you have and cancel your membership.

If you can't use an exchange check with the cancellation policy and see if you can get a replacement week. Otherwise you can let family or friends use the week (and they can unofficially compensate as you both see fit under the table) but you should never advertise it as a rental on an open forum or rental site.
