Century 21 timeshare sales
Does anyone have any info on Century 21 in regards to them selling timeshares. They have an upfront fee of $495 to pay for closing costs, which is refunded with the sale. I know paying up front is a no no but they sell at the timeshare no just on the internet. (they own RCI,if this makes any difference)

I have read many post with subject being Century 21 and most not saying good things!
First rule of coarse and most people with timeshares know this"do not pay up front fee".
If they want then charge after the sale and this is called a commission meaning paid for services like making the sale!
You said they are taking closing cost out up front and will refund when you sell which most likely will never happen . The buyer pays the closing cost all the time unless you make them a deal so why would Century 21 take this fee first and call it closing cost!
Do more home work before dealing with them! If these companies really will sell your timeshare then why won't they wait to get there share and answer is the up front fee is how they make their money.

Michael (incorrectly) stated, in pertinent part >> Century 21 .... they own RCI...<<
No, that's simply not accurate. Century 21 does NOT own RCI, either in whole or in part. RCI is owned by Cendant Corporation. Aside from their names having their first 3 letters the same, the two entities have no other commonality or connection to or with one another.

Evidently not since certified real estate agents can't take money up front .... only after they sell.

Century 21 does not own RCI .... Cendant owns RCI. I don't know how Century 21 can get away with pirating that name. Century 21 is a legitimate real estate company and legitimate real estate companies cannot take any type of upfront fee.
