Reliable Timeshare Sales Firm?
Has anyone heard or done business with Prestige Timeshare Marketing in Pompano Beach, FL? I did not have success with another firm Global Timeshare Solutions which promised me a good sales price but never delivered after paying an upfront fee. Yeah, I know - I shouldn't have done it , but I did!!

If the company charges an upfront fee, don't fall for it. Once they get your fee they have no incentive to sell your timeshare.
You've been burned once, please don't get burned a second time. If you price your timeshare right and it's at a resort and timeframe that will attract a buyer, you can just as easily sell it here on Redweek or other timeshare ad sites with very little money involved.
Upfront fee companies will quote an unrealistic price they can get for your timeshare that's a total lie, but that's how they snare into their web.

Oh, no....... I'm wondering if Chris Wood's Americap (also in Pompano Beach, FL) is reincarnated with a new name, with Americap now quite "stained" (at least here on RedWeek) from taking people's money and not delivering ---- ANYTHING........
Please. You don't need ANY of these bandits in order to buy a timeshare anyhow. Make the effort to do some homework and see if you can't find a willing, private, honest seller who has what you want listed for sale ---and complete your transaction completely without the various bandits.
You've admitted to already having been burned once. Burned twice, shame on you........

Hi I've tried twice and been burned - hoping the BIG buy and sell TS co will be different - but since I paid for the service - haven't heard a word. Why vent now? I just looked in my acct and realise I had an offer - thought it would come to my email BUT NO! it's been buried in the redweek files and they have rented elsewhere!

Bernice, when you are sent an email through your posting page you will receive one in your email account that you are registered here on RedWeek.com and also a copy will go into your Messages on our website. If you didn't receive one in your regular email account you might check to make sure your account isn't filtering out those emails.

I got a phone call yesterday from a timeshare sales firm. The caller sounded like a kid.
He wanted to sell me a timeshare. :surprise:
I thought, "This should be fun." I asked how his company got the timeshares they sell. Believe it or not, he said the owners hired his company, for $800, to sell the TS. I asked why the money up front? He gave me the party line about marketing expenses, etc.
I explained how real estate agents selling multimillion-dollar properties worked--without any up-front fees. He said, "Wow."
I was impressed that the asking price for Marriott's Desert Springs Villas resales was $9,000.
Well, that was my activity for the day.

Yes, I had a similar experience with Prestige Timeshare Marketing. They said they had a buyer for me, a doctor, who died a couple days before signing the closing documents. Yeah right!

However, I AM willing to openly say that, in my opinion and experience, no one ever actually NEEDS a resale firm (or any other third party) to sell a timeshare --- and no one should EVER pay a penny in upfront fees to ANYONE. With a total investment of about $100 and yes, with some expenditure of time and effort required, anyone can get their timeshare advertised across this entire planet to any and all prospective buyers. In the Internet era, no "resale firm" has any more, any better or any different access to prospective buyers than YOU do. Involving others with their outstretched palms looking for your money, to do what you can already do for yourself, is simply neither necessary nor cost effective.

I put a reply into 2 people regarding renting this week (4/21/08 even for a few days) in the northeaast area . It as in response to their posting for Depuy Vllage and Split Rock and I heard nothing. Is there something else I can do to contact these redweek members before the week has past?

Go to 'search forums' (top right hand corner of this page) and type in 'no upfront fee resale companies' then click 'all forums'. You will see the companies that charge no upfront fee.

Although it's too late now, normally Redweek advises to give the owner a week to respond as they may be out of town. Also, it could be that their week was not rented so they may have deposited it in an exchange company or used it themselves, BUT they should have taken their ad out of Redweek.

Hi Diane,
We usually allow the owners at least a few days to get back to people but you might also check any spam/junk mail in case they replied to you and your email account deleted it as spam. If it's not too late email support@redweek.com and perhaps customer service can help contact the owners for you.
