Is there anyway to get a list of all owners at a particluar timeshare resort . I would like to sell my week and would think if someone has one week and would like to add a second week this would make the sale easier.

Gary, I would not care for this idea! You may have the best of intentions but unless your almost giving it away I could find it listed on some site if I was looking!

I would think if you could get my name as a owner and possible other pravite information so could other people!

Lets face it in timesharing the low lifes are like bears! They smell food and they come running!

I would call the HOA or the resort management office and ask if they would provide you with that info, but don't be surprised if they decline. Asking for names of all owners would be a privacy issue.

You could ask them if they (Hoa or management) resale timeshares for current owners. Also, many resorts have bulletin boards for resales/rentals by owners where you could post your ad.

As a privacy matter, most resorts would certainly decline to release that information. As an owner, I completely agree with and fully support any and all efforts to keep private information PRIVATE.

RE: >> I would like to sell my week and would think if someone has one week and would like to add a second week this would make the sale easier. <<

Sure, but that can still occur without you being provided with personal information on EVERY owner without their prior knowledge and/or consent. You might, for example, consider contacting your resort's management office. Often, owners interested in purchasing additional weeks have made that fact very clearly known to the on site staff, who might then be willing to connect the two of you....without violating the privacy of any others. It would surely be worth placing one phone call to your resort to find out.

I know that I, for one, would be "more than a little" displeased to learn that ANY resort at which I own would release my personal information to ANYONE, regardless of the reason or good intentions. If it happened, I'd personally make very certain that the responsible party would soon be off seeking new employment elsewhere.........

The answer is that if the timeshares are deeded, yes, but it will take quite a bit of effort on your part. The deeds are a matter of public record, and are available at the courthouse of the county where the timeshare is located.

True enough, but if the inquirer doen't know the name of the last owner (grantor) in the transaction or the name of the current owner (grantee on the most recently recorded deed), then would it not essentially be a search for a needle in a haystack? (....which is just fine with me, personally, being of the opinion that "....if you don't need to know, then you don't need to know".

Ken we totally agree on this issue!

Sounds like Gary is trying to give owners first chance if its a good price or just sell without paying for an ad on some site! Either way I do not want my information out there and if I found out I would be in the resorts office very fast!

If it is a resort that doesn't have a resales dept then they may have a bulletin board for owners and this would be great!

Gary could list what he is selling and price and (HIS) phone number or e-mail address! I would think if he own in a nice resort that owners are happy with he would get calls!

I have never seen a bulletin board to list owners selling but there must be some out there!

If you want to communicate with other owners for purposes like running for the HOA board or advocating policies to be adopted by the resort, most state corporate laws and condominium laws REQUIRE them to give you the list under certain conditions, BUT using it for the purpose you suggest would not be permissible.
