Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

Anyone had any luck selling a Montecristo?

Nov 05, 2008

My boyfriend and I purchased our villa in July 2007 and absolutely love it! However, things have changed in our lives (buying a new house, changing jobs, etc.) which is making it harder and harder to travel. We definitely want to sell our villa (we own July 16-31st every year) and are wondering if ANYONE has had any luck unloading one of these places? If so, how did you do it? Any help/ideas would be great... we desperately want this to happen sooner rather than later. Thanks!

See Ken's post on a different thread (www.redweek.com/forums/messages?thread_id=14795). Let me add one more website, vacationtimesharerentals.com. Just DON'T let any company talk you paying an upfront fee on the pretense that they have a buyer waiting in the wings. In the meantime, you may want to try renting your weeks. At a minimum, you should be able to re-coup your MFs. I see you already posted the same question on TUG; the answers are going to be the same. There is no magic formula; you have to come up with a reasonable price and start advertising on all the websites previously mentioned. Good Luck
