Want to rent out my extra weeks (Wyndham)

Aug 19, 2011

I own at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek in Orlando. I have alot (like 2 weeks) of extra points left. I should have pooled them and do not want to bank them with RCI since I will have extra next year as well and want to try to stay Wyndham as much as possible to save dollars.

Looking for ways to rent out the extra weeks. I am only looking to cover the maintenance dollars for the points used plus any additional fees if I used ebay or paypal.

Was hoping to rent out to some friends locally but no luck.

Looking for some advice and suggestions.

Thanks!

You will more than likely get answers concerning renting your Wyndham weeks at www.tugbbs.com since they have an entire Wyndham forum.

Since you have indicated that it is now too late to "credit pool" your Wyndham points with Wyndham itself (something which, except for VIP, must be done BEFORE the current "use year" even begins) and also that you do not wish to deposit your Wyndham points with RCI (a decision which I certainly can fully understand and appreciate), your ONE AND ONLY remaining option at this juncture is to try to reserve the best week(s) you possibly can with your Wyndham points and then advertise to try to rent out those reserved weeks at a price competitive with other advertised comparable rentals.

You may or not actually recover your maintenance fees and / or incurred advertising costs in this very weak economy; use other advertised rental rates to see the current market pricing. You will need to match (or beat) other ad prices in order to be successful.

In my opinion, the two best places to advertise are RedWeek and MyResortNetwork (both sites cost $$ for ads). You can advertise for free on Craigslist and Bidshares, but Craigslist is loaded with scammers and spammers and Bidshares often yields very little in actual results. As in so many things, "you get what you pay for".

Good luck.

The good thing about using Redweek is that the very small fee that is paid is good for more than just the listing. It is an entire community here.
