I am a timeshare owner and have exchanged my "Gold Crown" weeks from another resort, to stay at this resort on several occasions over the last ten years. It is not the Four Seasons, but the resort is extremely clean and the front desk staff are like a big happy family. Bathrooms are in dire need of repair, but everything works. There are two large full bathrooms, and this is defintely a plus for two or more people. Lots of counter space to store your personal grooming aides. Several of the units have been refurnished and the furnishings are attractive (leather or faux suede).

The pool and deck were recently refurbished in the last few years and is very comfortable and a nice place to have your morning brew, in, or out of the sun. The lobby has also been renovated and there is a very attractive lounge area on the second floor where you can sit and hang out. Really nice..

This resort is in a absolutely fantastic location. It's close to shopping, the boardwalk, great restaurants and has a great pub and eatery next door. Plenty to do in the evening without having to drive anywhere.

This is a great family resort, as there are an abundance of activities for older kids on the boardwalk which is a 3-5 min. walk from the front door of the resort.

Parking is extremely convenient. You can park in front of the main doors or in the attached garage. This is expecially handy when you return from the supermarket with several bags.

For anyone looking for a great Florida timeshare, I would highly recommend this resort for the price. Once you stay here, you will want to return year after year. I know I do, in fact, my husband and I are going back there this Xmas for two weeks on a RCI exchange, and are looking very forward to it. This resort is location, location, location!!!

As of September 14, 2005 the owners association put in place a new management company to improve operations. The resort is now managed by SPM Resorts of Myrtle Beach, SC. They manage over 70,000 interval shares in resorts from Maine to the US Virgin Islands.

Very poor management. There seems to be a problem with the directors and the management company. We where there for two weeks and there seemed to be a lot of problems being discused. I also left two items in the first room we where in we had to move to another room the second week. I was unable to get my items I forgot. I was told that when you leave somthing in your room the cleaning staff believes that you leave it for them. A silver bangel braclet which was expensive was one of the Items. I Think Not

Went to this as a swap. One bedroom unit was large and made spacious by the mirrored walls. The biggest drawback and MAJOR eyesore were the bathtubs -- obviously had been "painted"?? at one time and were peeling/chipping horribly -- I was almost scared to put my 4 y.o. granddaughter in them. Would be such a small price to pay and would make such a difference to replace these tubs.

The pool area is very nice -- don't know why the restaurant was closed but obviously from other people, it had been for a few seasons. The biggest distractor from the pool was the "Pool Nazi". This little twerp (pool attendant) Luke was a constant irritation -- always getting on the kids (and adults) for absolutely nothing -- kept accusing them of "peeing" in the pool. Would not let kids (of any age) in the hot tub -- even with adult supervision. Probably not a bad idea since the hot tub was so hot you could hardly get in it anyway -- as a nurse, I know a temp that hot is not good for the elderly, which Luke kept telling everyone the hot tub was for. Sign posted said the max temp was 105 but I have a hot tub and believe me it was hotter than 105 -- more like 106 to 107 at least.

In general, a lot of improvements would help this timeshare.

New added 6/04: According to TUG & RCI posts, has won a RID reward.

New added 12/03: There has been a lot of work going on at this place, espically the interior lobby areas, pools, and other 'public' areas. A sales force is also available to give info on this and several other places in the S Fl area. The bridge connecting the Tower with the Hotel has been removed. The interior public areas have been renovated, as has the pool areas. Most public areas are non-smoking. The small gift shop has very fair pricing...ok, not Publix, but less than the MAR Market Place in Beach Place. The resturant is closed, but there is 'fast food' like hot dogs offered via a window in the pool area. They are also working on the rooms. I would say this place is beginning to look better than many in the Pompano area....(including some they also list for resales). It (IMO) easily beats out Sea Gardens (but not the 2 bed 2 bath Ocean Palms units-but a long walk to the beach). And many others along the Pompano 'strip' will be soon behind this T/S resort. (Charlie needs to also help the Enchanted Isle a few blocks S.) Maybe they are trying to get a 5 star from II or at least a RID from RCI. Didn't see a remodeled room yet, so I'm not sure of the star ratings....still not near 5, but moving up.

Wow! Another owner inflated 5 star rating. I think Redweek is a great concept. I also believe honest information will keep Redweek going.

The Hollywood Tower does not rate 5 stars. When we visited, it might get two....similiar to what the 1922 Bldg (Hollywood Beach Resort by Ramada) next to it would deserve. (And the Hollywood Tower is some 65 years younger.) The Ramada is currently under renovations, and may soon rate higher.

    The beach, however,

    Positives********

Units are large for a 1 bedroom and have two bathrooms

Location is great . On the beach and on a great boardwalk

Pool area has been renovated and is very nice

    Staff is courteous.

    Negatives******

Pool heater would not work when the temperature went below 50 degrees so pool was ice cold for a few days

Overall interior and exterior appearance of the place was shabby. One gets the impression that maintenance is not a high priority. The exterior security door of one stairwell had a broken latch and was rusted at the break point which meant that it had broken long ago and was never repaired. Someone could enter from the street by pulling on the door.

When a bit of water got on the floor in the bathroom it leaked into the unit below.

The room we stayed in was on the top floor. The rooms were very large. The view was wonderful. The location and the beach were teriffic. There is still a lot of renovation going on, so maybe more stars are in the future.
