We stayed at this resort on a RCI trade and found it to be quite good. The hotel is in the process of upgrading and we understand that it had become quite run-down. While we were there, it had only floors 11 and 12 complete. If you have not been here recently, things have probably improved.

We stayed in room 1216. It was a nice room and everything worked well. I found the kitchen not to be very well supplied for cooking, but with so many good places to eat at reasonable prices, it didn't matter much.

The staff was very friendly and made sure that everything was in order. Housekeeping brings fresh towels every day.

The location is 21 blocks from the French Quarter, and it is in the Garden District. The St. Charles Street Car stops right in front of the building, so getting around was easy.

Good location but hotel flooded first day we were there. Rooms were dark and moldy. We had sneezing attacks the whole time we were there. The Beds are not very comfy. The lobby is too small with nowhere to sit down. The "swimming pool" in the back courtyard looks like someone poured lots of detergent powder in it - that's how cloudy the water was. Also, this "pool" was about the size of a large jacuzzi. Two strokes and you've reached the other side! The courtyard itself was attractive notwithstanding the feeling that you were melting in the damp and heavy heat a la Heart of Darkness.

Their timeshare presentations were on second floor (good thing because the ground floor was knee deep in flood water). We were promised a swamp tour if we did the timeshare presentation, which we did but when we did not buy the timeshare, the rep refused to give the swamp tour to us, saying that it was only for people who had never bought a timeshare before and we already owned one (elsewhere).

They were pushing the Dophin's Cove in Anaheim, Ca as a great resort they own. Unfortunately for them, I had been there and it is far from being a "resort." More like an apartment complex. Please! In a nutshell - I do not recommend the timeshare presentation. They are very, very agressive - they kept us over 3 hours and then they reniged on the bait, saying it was a misunderstanding.

Hairdresser in hotel is very, very expensive - go to beauty shop across the street instead.
